Cold Blooded Reds
Left to right,
Pinot Noir from Bernardville
Winery: Geiger & Koenig
Its a light and fresh Pinot Noir with good acicity and some lovely flavours of raspberries and other red berries thrown through it. Its has a great balance between red fruit, acidity and stalky bitterness
Nice young wine with good flavour and a good finish
Cabernet Franc from Loire
WInery: Domaine Delettre
On the nose you get sour cherries, wild berries & little plum to start, and some floral notes. The carbonic maceration keeps it more fruit driven.
The tasting is juicy, mellow & light, with low tannins and a nice acidity.
What you smell is mainly what you get.
It’s simple but very effective, serve this one slightly chilled
and it will be your new best friend.
Dornfelder from Traben-Trarbach
Winery: Jan-Philipp Bleeke
The flavour to start with is cranberries, blackberries, green capsicum, great acidity and then it slowly turns darker, like dark roasted nuts, coffee beans and very pure chocolate, earthy, those bitter notes. But still with soft forest fruit flavours running through it.
