Domaine Mittnacht Frères
Alsace, Hunawihr, France

It is at the foot of the fortified church of Hunawihr that the Mittnacht
family has been producing wine since 1963.

Today the domaine is run by Marc Mittnacht, son of André,
together with his wife Paule and their son Pierre. Between them
they farm 11 hectares spread across some of the best terroirs of
Hunawihr and Ribeauvillé.

The vineyard has been worked organically and biodynamically for more than 20 years, since 1999, no weedkillers, fertilisers or chemical insecticides, with the family making their own compost and biodynamic preparations to let the vine defend itself naturally.

Work in the vineyard and cellar follows the lunar and solar calendar, with root days, fruit days and key moments like racking and bottling all timed to it.

The result is wine that is upright, generous and sincere — a straightforward expression of the Hunawihr terroir the family has worked for three generations.
