Gewürzt Heaven
All Orange Wines, All from the Alsace
Left to right,
Dans les pres Fleuris from Bernardville
Winery: Geiger & Koenig
On the nose you can smell the gewurzt, flowers, dried meadow
Soft mellow stone fruit , like apricot, some honey, little salinity, an orange zest bitterness runs through the apricot & honey flavours. Nice long & soft finish and still refreshing.
It coats your mouth with happiness
Zenith from Ammerschwihr
WInery: Les Funambules
A juicy, spicy Alsace orange wine with plenty of personality. Zénith combines the exotic, floral power of Gewürztraminer with the electric freshness of Riesling. Think mandarin, grapefruit, dried apricot and warm spices, wrapped in a dry, slightly tannic and beautifully textured palate. Natural, energetic and surprisingly refreshing for such a generous wine.
Finish is long, dry and slightly bitter, with grapefruit peel, spice and a refreshing saline quality.
Gewurz from Colmar
Winery: Domaine Martin Jund
The nose is vermouth style, botanical
The taste is the same, little vermouth, soft bitter dryness, a touch of caramel towards the end
There are so many flavours every time you smell and taste, very addictive.
