Eric Kamm Wines Alsace

The Kamm estate, spanning 6.5 hectares, is nestled in the heart of the medieval town of Dambach-la-Ville, on the eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains, 30 kilometers north of Colmar. This region is celebrated for its terroir, producing wines that flourish in its unique granite and volcanic soil.

In 2005, Eric Kamm took over the family winery from his father, Jean-Louis, and initiated significant changes. Transitioning the vineyard to organic farming, Eric also began crafting wines that diverged from his father’s traditional styles. Positioned 500 meters above sea level, the vineyards comprise different parcels of volcanic granite and are planted with Pinot Gris, Riesling, Auxerrois, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir.

Eric's approach focuses on letting the terroir express itself, working with small yields to closely monitor the plots and vinify each Alsatian grape variety with utmost care, including the Grand Cru Frankstein.

He utilizes the natural yeasts present on the grape skins to initiate fermentation. Both Jean-Louis and Eric’s wines are renowned for their quality, richness, typicality, and minerality.
